Organization Information

Bibles For The World is a 501(c) (3) organization and all donations are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law. We take our stewardship seriously and that is why more than 85% of all our expenditures go to programs. We carefully monitor and review programs and costs, use donations and grants for their intended purposes, and look for ways to leverage funds for maximum impact. In addition, we strive to keep our overhead rate low.

Dr. Rochunga "Dr. Ro" Pudaite, Founder

Dr. Ro Pudaite belongs to the Hmar tribe. He was born in Senvon and grew up in the village of Phulpui in the Indian state of Manipur. He currently serves on the Board of National Religious Broadcasters, is the Founder-President of William Carey Heritage Foundation, as well as the Founder of the Evangelical Free Church of India (EFCI). Dr. Ro is currently serving as the Moderator of the 340 EFCI churches in India. He is the Founder-Chairman of Partnership Mission Society and Trinity College and Seminary, as well as the Founder of Sielmat Christian Hospital and Sielmat Christian Higher Secondary School. Dr. Ro graduated from Allahabad University in Allahabad, India, with a B.A. in Economics and English. He then studied theology for one year in Scotland and for three years at the Wheaton College Graduate School of Theology. Later, he earned an M.S. in Education Administration from Northern Illinois University. Malone College in Canton, Ohio, bestowed the honorary Doctorate of Laws in 1976 and Dallas Baptist University bestowed the honorary Doctor of Divinity in 2000. Dr. Ro is a Cambridge Man of Achievement. He is also listed in Heroes of the Christian Faith along with Billy Graham and Mother Teresa. Dr. Ro has written several books, including The Education of the Hmar People, The Book that Sets My People Free, and The Dime that Lasted Forever. Dr. Ro and his wife, Dr. Mawii Pudaite, have three children and four grandchildren. The Pudaites reside in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Dr. Lalrimawii “Dr. Mawii” Pudaite, President and Co-founder,

Dr. Mawii was born in Khawlian, Mizoram, India, and came to the United States in 1959 with her husband, Dr. Rochunga Pudaite, to begin their ministry. She is a popular speaker and author of the book Beyond the Next Mountain, a story about her husband and their ministry work. Dr. Mawii also serves on the boards of William Carey Heritage Foundation, Executive Council of Evangelical Free Church of India (EFCI), Partnership Mission Society (Trustee), Executive Committee of Partnership Mission Society, and Trinity College and Seminary. Dr. Mawii graduated with an Intermediate Arts Degree from St. Mary’s College in Shillong, Meghalaya, in Northeast India. After coming to America, she continued her education at Wheaton College in Illinois. In 2009, Trinity College and Seminary in Sielmat, Manipur, India, bestowed the Honorary Doctorate of Divinity to her. Dr. Mawii and Dr. Ro Pudaite have three grown children and five grandchildren and live in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

John L. Pudaite, Vice-President for International Ministries,

John, the son of Ro and Mawii Pudaite, has been serving BFTW since 2006 as the Vice- President for International Ministries. He oversees ministerial activities around the world, though primarily in India. Previously, he served for seven years as the Executive Vice- President (COO/CFO) at BTFW’s Colorado Springs headquarters. John is also an award winning filmmaker and is passionate about appropriate technology and sustainable development. John received a B.A. in Philosophy and Art History from Wheaton College in Illinois. He is currently based in India with his wife, Lawm and son Joshua, but he also calls Colorado Springs, Colorado, home.

Meet The Founders

Louis S. Pope, Chairman of the Board
Donna C. Pope,

Louis is the president of Louis S. Pope & Company, an insurance brokerage and consulting firm specializing in employee benefit plans, life, health, and disability insurance. He also has farming interests in Arkansas, where he raises rice, soybeans, wheat, and corn. Louis has served on several church boards and helped start a church in Memphis. He graduated from Memphis State University. Louis’s wife, Donna, is a graduate of the FFA Academy and is a retired air traffic controller. Louis and Donna live in rural Fayette County, Tennessee.

Joe Musser, Secretary,

Joe is an author of nearly 60 books, including several New York Times bestsellers. He is the founder-president of Blackhawk Broadcasting Corp., and the president of Joe Musser Management Group, Inc. Joe was a founding board member of Bedford Center for Creative Study, On The Edge Ministries, and other organizations in the past. Joe has five children and four grandchildren and lives in Rockford, Illinois. He has served on the BFTW board since the mid-1970s.

John King, Treasurer
Kathy King,

John is the owner of King Construction in Pennsylvania. He is a trustee of Honeybrook Church. John has taken several trips to India for a first-hand look at the various ministries BFTW supports in Northeast India. He has also been an advisor for the local construction of church and school buildings on the India field. His wife, Kathy, is a Bible teacher and travels to various mission fields to minister. John and Kathy have five children and reside in New Holland, Pennsylvania.

Dr. James Congdon,
Melody Congdon,

Jim has been the lead pastor at Topeka Bible Church for over 30 years. He serves as the chairman of the board of Jews for Jesus. Jim has a B.S. in Math from Wheaton College, a Th.M. in Old Testament from Dallas Seminary, and a D.Min from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. Melody is guidance counselor and public relations director of Cair Paravel Latin School, a Christian classical school. She also directs Melody’s Makeover Ministry, which does home makeovers for needy people in Topeka. Melody has a B.S. in Social Work from Washburn University. Jim and Melody have four children and two grandchildren. They reside in Topeka, Kansas.

Rev. Dr. Ruolneikum “Khuma” Pakhuongte,

Khuma, the elder brother of Mawii Pudaite, is the President Emeritus of the Evangelical Free Church of India. He has spent more than 50 years working with the ministry, starting out as the Principal of Sielmat Christian College. Khuma has served on many boards including the Partnership Mission Society Board of Trustees as Vice-Chairman, Northeast India Christian Council as Treasurer and Vice-Chairman, Evangelical Free Church of India Executive Council, Union Biblical Seminary, Northeast India Committee on Relief and Development as Treasurer, CASA as Vice-Chairman, Gauhati University as Council Member, and Northeast Christian Relief Organization and Development as Chairman. He has earned a B.A. from Gauhati University, an M.A. in History from Allahabad University, an M.A.Th. from Northern Baptist Seminary, and an Honorary Doctorate of Divinity from Serampore University. Khuma and his wife, L. Tanpui, are the parents of four children and have eleven grandchildren. They reside at the Evangelical Center in Madanriting, Shillong, Meghalaya, India.
